The MindLab!!!

On Tuesday, 22nd of September 2015, what we were waiting for came. We had been selling GRi11 Industries products, (Practical objects we had made ourselves) We were fundraising to go to The MindLab in Petone.  Finally the day came, and we engrossed ourselves in Robotics and programming. There were 5 main activities, Car Building, ScribbleBot Building, Stop Motion Animation, Makey Makey Makey and 3D printing. In this I'll explain what each was about.

 Car Building

In this you had to build a car with CDs, Foam Packing, Cardboard, Straws, and Skewers, a motor and battery box, and a fan.

 ScribbleBot Building

In this you had to build a drawing robot with the same materials as the car, but also with plastic cups, pens and a off-centre dongle.

Stop Motion Animation

For this you took heaps of photos while moving something at the same time so it looks like a video.

Makey Makey

Makey Makey is an epic circuit board type thing. If you plug one and into basically anything, if you touch that thing it actually renders!

3D Printing

The final thing, and my favourite was 3D Printing. With 3D printing you can design 3D Objects and actually "Print" them. You probably have heard about it before, but I would 100% recommend.

MindLab was amazing, and I hope you want to go.
